And the books are finally in!

Posted on 10 February 2006 by Lord Brar

A few months ago I had participated in a contest held by Site5 — my webhost — and, surprisingly, won it! The prize was David Allen’s book Getting Things Done (which I really-really wanted to get hold of).

Right after I got the confirmation of my winning the contest I sent in my shipping details. One month passed and I got no confirmation. I reminded them about it and then another month passed. Then another.

Thinking this was another fluke contest (as other winners of previous contests were complaining the same thing), I forgot about it and moved on.

Fast forward till today and I had an amazon.com package waiting for me as soon as I returned home from work. Here’s what I found inside it -

Voila! Site5 also added bonus book — Ready for Anything — along with the promised prize.

Awright Site5, I might give you another year of my business as you have proved that along with providing a ‘consistently’ excellent hosting service, you also keep your word — no matter how long it takes.

I am impressed, honestly.

Oh, now I am just waiting to win a contest with iPod as a giveaway (muwaaaaaaaa! I really want it). :p

About the iPod – ya sure ya wanna wait another 5 months? Chances are, apple’ll come out w/ a new one shortly there after :P

Hah! Bryan, you know what – Computers, iPods and Women are something you will always have this problem with! As soon as you order one you will be happy that you have ordered the best possible model but when you see what others have, you will hit yourself for not waiting a bit longer. ;)

Damn, I am ready to take anyting that resembles an iPod even remotely but someone should be willing to give it. :P

This is a viral video from Youtube that is getting a lot of attention.

I will let the author set the scene:

It was back in Oct 2005.

My wedding was about a month to go and I decided to make a memorable event for my future wife. But, I and she were working and due to preparation of wedding, I didn’t have enough budgets for expensive proposal. While I was considering for the event, I remembered what she said in the past. “Wow it would be great if I can get a chance to go in the room with full of yellow post it just like Sang Sang Plus” (Sang Sang Plus is one of the famous talk show (TV program) in Korea and they prepare a room with full of yellow post it – questions from fans to famous celebrity)

I wrote all the happy memories that I had with my wife in 5,940 post it. It took me 4 days & 5 nights to write everything and post it in the bathroom. (I tried main living room first, but, due to surface of wallpaper, I had to change the place) Once we back from honeymoon, we took all the post it off and kept it in the box until now.
