Can you please stop doing stupid surveys like these?

As soon as my post about the digital future of Disney went up, one of my friends linked me to a survey on Multi-channel News which said that by more than a 3-1 margin, consumers would rather watch commercials than pay for TV shows and other programs they can download, according to the results of a survey to be released Wednesday by research firms Points North Group and Horowitz Associates Inc.
Fellas, stop wasting time on stupid surveys like these, perhaps funded by some TV Media firm with an aim of schmoozing the Media Buyers.
Time for finding flaws in the survey!
First of all, while I agree that free sounds good but, the future of Digital Multimedia is not so gloomy. The same thing, that why would people pay when they can get it for free, was said when Radio was introduced. No, the sale of CDs did not decline but instead they skyrocketed.
You all made the same halaboo about digital music download, see what iTunes is doing to the industry?
About the iTunes Video Store, it is being said that it boosted prime time ratings for NBC and ABC. How’s that for an impact in such a short period of time (something like just few months since they started offering videos on iTunes Store)?
Secondly, Infrastructure is still growing. Not everyone everywhere has 3 mbps pipes or lives in the Broadband wonderland Korea. But things are getting better. As more and more get hooked up to broadband, the consumption of e-Media will grow.
It does take time for things to get into mainstream. Windows XP took no less than 4 years to become fully mainstream even with Microsoft pushing it with all its might.
Give this media some time to grow and then compare it to an already established media like television.
