How to market boring stuff

I often am contacted by people who want to know how to market their boring crap. Accountants, lawyers, people who make the bits of metal that attach to keyrings…
These people seem to think that boring stuff is impossible to market, I always reply with just three words: “WILL IT BLEND”.
Then I realise I have just sent a three word email that will make no sense, so I follow up with links to the will it blend videos, and I tell them that a boring blender has been the focus of one of the most amazing marketing campaigns this century.
The fact of the matter is that you can market ANYTHING, you just need to be creative.
Obviously there is no magic secret to being creative… even beer doesn’t help! But today I am going to show you the marketing that a dentist used to promote his dental practice:

Dentists are as boring as Celine Dion reading the bible, so if they can think of creative marketing techniques then why can’t you?
