Work From Home And Be Productive
Posted on 05 April 2007 by DeanHunt
So you have decided to work from home. Well done, pat yourself on the back. But if you are not careful it can be very dangerous.
I have compiled some tips to help you be more productive from home. If you want to be successful from home, then continue to read. If not, please close the door on your way out.
1) Start each day with something easy, fun or interesting.
I always start by reading a few forums related to my industry. Then I do an easy task to get some momentum. Trying to do a 50 page report on your finances is not going to put you in a good frame of mind for the rest of the day.
2) Use a VERY strict schedule
This is an easy mistake to make. But unless you have a strict schedule you will procrastinate a LOT more. Set a time and stick to it 9-5, 10-6, even 12-8 if you wish.
3) Make your work and living area separate.
Having your office in the same room as your Xbox is not a good idea. Nor should you sleep or watch TV in the same room.
4) Get out!
It is important to get out of the house at least once per day. Take a walk, go for much, skip hand in hand with your partner across the beach. Whatever you have to do to get out, DO IT!
5) Get dressed
One of the novelties of working from home is that fact you can wear anything or nothing
but this can lead to getting into a casual mental attitude. Get dressed properly and you will work harder and smarter.
6) Deadlines are deadgood
Everyone complains about deadlines, but without them nothing would ever get done.
Set yourself deadlines and stick to them. This helps focus your mind.
Summary: Now you have the tips and tools to be be productive when working from home. Go forth and make cash.
