Work From Home Week
Posted on 03 April 2007 by DeanHunt
This week is work from home week at StreetLessons.com – Every day we will be sharing with you tips, advice and neat information on working from home.
If you work from home then this info will be invaluable.
If you don’t work from home then we will show you what is available.
So let’s start on a positive note. Here are 5 killer reasons working from home is so good.
1 – Choose the hours YOU want to work.
There is nothing worse than having to get up at 6am to be at the bus stop for 7:00am. It is even worse if you are hungover or really tired.
So why not get out of bed when you want to?
If you wish to work from noon until 8pm then do so. You are the boss, decide your own hours. They don’t even have to be the same every day.
2 – Spend quality time with your family.
Ah, family, remember them? When I worked 10 hour days with an additional 2 hours of travelling, 6 days per week I would sometimes forget what they looked like.
There is nothing worse than being invited to family meals etc and not being able to come because your boss wants you to work. If you work from home then you will be there when they need you.
3 – Save more cash –
You will be amazed how much you spend on things like travel expenses, coffee, takeaway lunch etc… Not only can you save money on your tax bill by working from home, you can all save a fortune on travel and food.
4 – Avoid the dreaded office politics.
Did you hear that Jane fancies Tim? And we think Ross is getting a promotion… blah blah blah. I don’t care about Jane and Tim, leave me alone. When you work from home you don’t have Wendy from accounts pestering you with stories of her drunken night out the night before.
5 – Save time
Time is money. So saving time = saving money. Brilliant! Spending all your time working is not the sign of a fulfilling life. So unless your job is rubbing the oil onto the playboy girls, you really don’t want to be working 50+ hour weeks.
We are all going to die one day, and we cannot get this time back.
Summary: Working from home can be great for financial, health and time reasons. Subscribe to our feed for future related updates.
