Posted on 05 March 2007 by BS Buster

Hello, my name is BS Buster and I am here to debunk the nonsense from the world of Internet Business. I am a straight talking and highly successful son of a bitch, so pay attention or get lost.

Today I am going to discuss the myth that Submitting To The Search Engines Is a Good Idea.

bullshit nonsense

A Load Of Bull: Submitting To The Search Engines Is a Good Idea

Says who?: There are thousand of companies that will charge you a lot of money in exchange for submitting your site to 10,000+ search engines.

So what?: This is not only not necessary and not useful, but it is also a scam. First of all, can you name 10,000 search engines? there are only three that will provide regular traffic and guess what…. you DO NOT need to submit to any of them.
To get your site listed in the search engines you simply need a few backlinks to your site. If you are unable to get 3 backlinks then you should give up now and go and work in McDonalds or something.
When you have your backlinks the search engine spiders will follow those links and index your site in their database, not only is this method free, it is also a far more effective way of submitting your site to the search engines.
For example, if you use the submit site feature on Google what you are effectively saying is this:

Hello Google, I am such a useless loser that I couldn’t get any links, my site is not worth talking about and is a load of crap, but could you pretty please let me into your search engine anyway?

If you want Google to think your site is crap then go ahead, but let’s look at this from another angle. Let’s say that you started your site and managed to get 3 backlinks from quality, related websites. This is what you are now telling Google:

Hey Google, get off your fat ass and index my awesome website. These links will show you that my site is of high quality and is related to the xxxxxxxx industry. Index me and start ranking me for related terms now. Also, put me in the sandbox and I will bitchslap you into the middle of next week.

Get the message???

Summary: Submitting sites to the search engines is a scam aimed at newbies and idiots. If you are the head of the newbies and idiots society then feel free to pay some company $500 to do something that is worthless.

I would presume adding my response will enable 1 backlink?

I admit I submitted to over 10,000 search engines and for the most part they have search my spam filter good (It now has something to do)

All in All, I agree with BS Buster.

This is a viral video from Youtube that is getting a lot of attention.

I will let the author set the scene:

It was back in Oct 2005.

My wedding was about a month to go and I decided to make a memorable event for my future wife. But, I and she were working and due to preparation of wedding, I didn’t have enough budgets for expensive proposal. While I was considering for the event, I remembered what she said in the past. “Wow it would be great if I can get a chance to go in the room with full of yellow post it just like Sang Sang Plus” (Sang Sang Plus is one of the famous talk show (TV program) in Korea and they prepare a room with full of yellow post it - questions from fans to famous celebrity)

I wrote all the happy memories that I had with my wife in 5,940 post it. It took me 4 days & 5 nights to write everything and post it in the bathroom. (I tried main living room first, but, due to surface of wallpaper, I had to change the place) Once we back from honeymoon, we took all the post it off and kept it in the box until now.
