My MediaTemple Grid Server Experience.
Posted on 26 January 2007 by Lord Brar
I am so getting frustrated with Media Temple. This site is hosted on Media Temple Grid Server — which was marketed as the last hosting you’d need since it is scalable on demand and can even sustain Digg Traffic and Slashdot Traffic.
From their sales pitch –
Dynamic, clustered scalability
Automatically grows to support any load level. Easily handle traffic spikes with the power of hundreds of servers powering your site.
Now that I’ve been with them for ever since they released their service to public, I can very well say that rather than being the revolution Media Temple was claiming this technology to be, it is one the biggest Jokes. Even Site5 was better than this.
Their Servers go up and down faster than a yo-yo!
Even though they gave an explaination of the issues here. But the bottom line remains that my sites still don’t work when I need them to work.
If things don’t get right in a week or so, I am moving to some other host. Though I absolutely love the support they provide but what use is support if the site doesn’t work — it doesn’t make me any money.
Fingers crossed that they actually do something about the issue.
