Did that eMail make you angry? Here’s what to do about it.

Posted on 24 January 2007 by Lord Brar

A few days ago I got happened to get an eMail which raised the mercury level in my head to the boiling point the moment I finished reading it and responded to that eMail saying that our “professional” relationship was over and they should not expect me to do anything for their company.

Right after replying I posted an open letter to everyone involved the project I was doing for this company explaining my situation. Everyone agreed with me so I immediately cooled off a bit — afterall, I got re-assured that the stance I had taken was not wrong.

Am I repenting doing what I did? Absolutely NO.

Could I have handedled the situation better? Probably.

What could I have done? I should have just slept a night over that email. When emotions are high you don’t think logically. And when you chill-up your mind, you start thinking objectively. The decisions you take in both states are usually very different from each other.

Here’s another amazing thing to keep in mind, that actually came to me via a text message forward — Never take a decision when you are angry and never make a promise when you are happy.

Oh and thank you Mr. Neeraj Gupta for all the wonderful things that you keep teaching me whenever I am around you. :)

This is a viral video from Youtube that is getting a lot of attention.

I will let the author set the scene:

It was back in Oct 2005.

My wedding was about a month to go and I decided to make a memorable event for my future wife. But, I and she were working and due to preparation of wedding, I didn’t have enough budgets for expensive proposal. While I was considering for the event, I remembered what she said in the past. “Wow it would be great if I can get a chance to go in the room with full of yellow post it just like Sang Sang Plus” (Sang Sang Plus is one of the famous talk show (TV program) in Korea and they prepare a room with full of yellow post it – questions from fans to famous celebrity)

I wrote all the happy memories that I had with my wife in 5,940 post it. It took me 4 days & 5 nights to write everything and post it in the bathroom. (I tried main living room first, but, due to surface of wallpaper, I had to change the place) Once we back from honeymoon, we took all the post it off and kept it in the box until now.
