Guy Kawasaki Interview — 5 Questions about Success, Money and Life.
Posted on 09 December 2006 by John
If you are an entrepreneur or are aspiring to be one, then you probably already know Guy Kawasaki. Guy is a venture capitalist, bestselling author and an a-list blogger. He was really kind enough to take out time to answer the 5 Questions about Success, Money and Life.
Straight from Guy’s Mind –
I lead a schizophrenic existence. I blog, speak, write, advise, and invest. Which one would you like me to describe? Most people see me as a venture capitalist. Essentially, this means I’m looking for two guys/gals in a garage who are trying to start the next Google.
I wish I knew for sure. I have four kids and a complex and passionate wife. I also have my passions. It takes a lot of money to fuel this machine.
Their forecasting is terrible. They almost always run out of money despite their most “conservative” estimates. I just blogged about the topic of forecasting; the entry is called “The Art of Projections in a Dotcom 2.0 World.” It’s a must read for any entrepreneur, all modesty aside.
By far, the most important lesson I’ve learned is that one’s family is more important than anything. Despite this knowledge, I don’t always make the right choice…but it’s always on my mind. I walk away from a lot of deals, opportunities, etc that I would have done when I was younger.
Only a fool would believe that he knew. My number one wish is that I wouldn’t have to travel as much. It’s a bad sign when you have a personal reservationist at United, and you look worse than your passport photo.
I would like to do these things: be with my family, write, speak (locally), and play hockey. Only these things.
Thanks a lot Guy! I really appreciate you time… I know it’s really precious.
