Is that networking marketing or affiliate program?

Today I got linked to this site called Automatic Builder via the paid review service ReviewMe. The site claims to be that of a network marketing company. The moment you visit the site, you are faced with the usual promises and dreams that most network marketing companies show. Here’s a sample –

That reminds me of Amway meetings! Scroll to the next page, you see that they claim to be commercializing on these trends –

Scroll a few pages ahead and you will see that they are exactly like an affiliate program with some most marketing tools supplied along. That made me think — what is the difference between a multi-tier affiliate marketing program and a network marketing program. Anyone has an answer?
Also, for guys at automatic builder — if there is just one thing which I can tell you to do is to please-please-please stop using the uber-spammy language that you are using. Apart from the spammy language, this site certainly gave me a few ideas I am most certainly going to use in my future projects!

To answer your question, it is Network Marketing. MLM have gotten a bad reviews, which is understandable, there are bad people everywhere practicing bad business tactics. MLM has been around since the early part of the last century. I would say it’s creditable, if you’re working with a credible mother company. We are credible.
