Don’t let small things kill your marketing campaign!

The headline, as you can read, says : “Come in and get a free cookie with your Office Depot receipt.” The fine print : with the purchase of a combo meal.
Now that’s an instant turn off for most people, including John Jantsch who blogged first about it on Duct Tape Marketing Blog.
Folks, here’s a news for you: Small things matter and matter a lot. A 29 cent cookie’s free sample would not have you filing for chapter 11 bankruptcy but it would increase your business. That’s what free samples have proven to do time and time again.
But that’s not the point. The point that I am trying to make here is : Don’t let small things kill your marketing campaign, focus on the big picture.
