Got killer looks? Chances are that you could be taking home a killer pay cheque! That’s what a research by Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis has to say.

According to that report, beautiful people tend to earn 5 percent more an hour than their less comely colleagues.

The research further said that after you take out the variables like education and experience the “beauty premium” exists across nearly all occupations.

Also, jobs requiring more interpersonal contact have higher percentages of above-average-looking employees. For example, there was a higher beauty premium among private sector lawyers than their government-supported counterparts. The possible reason is that private attorneys need to attract and keep clients.

Hey, while it sounds harsh but its a fact of life. If you are smart and sexy, you always get more attention from other — especially if the person over the counter is of the other sex.

BTW while reading Robert Cialdini’s Influence, I realized that the biggest reason why car companies and others use hot models in their promotions is not because the ad agency gets to screw the model but because hot model makes the product look hotter!

That’s right, hot models are not there just to get the initial attention but because it is human nature to perceive things in the vicinity of beautiful things as beautiful.
